Update on the Maria Guerrero Belicoso
The December 2005 issue of Cigar Aficionado has another review of the Maria Guerrero Belicoso. This is a cigar that I reviewed here at Cigar Envy last month, rating it a 95.
They still rate the cigar a 90, remarking on its “perfect draw and even burn.” They also mention “light coffee, tea and cream notes,” and “a kick of black pepper and toast on the finish.”
Even better than new rating information that doesn’t add anything to what you already know, there is also a special lower price on the cigar by one of the major retailers. The new price is lower than anything listed in my review. It is also lower than anything I’ve seen this cigar offered for before.
In addition to this special lower price not being listed in my November review — it also isn’t even listed on the retailers website yet.
Jump on this one.
Cigars International has Maria Guerrero Belicoso cigars in stock now and is offering them at the best price I’ve seen — U.S. $99.95 per box of 25 (a hair under $4.00 a stick). That’s $10.00 less that the best box price listed in my November review ($119.00 a box at Famous Smoke Shop).
However…
As I said above, you won’t find Maria Guerrero cigars listed on the Cigars International website yet. In order to get them, and get them at this special low price, you’ll have to call their toll-free number at 1-888-244-2790 and order them over the phone. This is an exceptional cigar, one of the best Cameroons around, and a definite “best buy” at this price. Think of it as an early holiday gift.

I thought the Maria Guerrero was an enjoyable smoke but nothing special. My local Cigar shop is having an event with this vendor on the 14th. I’ll be trying another one there. We’ll see if my impressions of it have changed any.
